This article is about the 2009 feature film about an American football player. This movie was made for T.V. The Blind Side.

The Blind Side was based on a true story of Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy who take in a homeless teenage African American, Michael "Big Mike" Oher. Michael has no idea who his father is and his mother is an drug addict. Michael has had little formal education and few skills to help him learn. Leigh Anne soon takes charge however, as is her nature, ensuring the the young man has every opportunity to succeed. When he expresses an interest in football, she goes all out to help him, including giving the coach a few ideas on how best to use Michael's skills. They not only provide him with a loving home, but hire a tutor to help him to improve his grades to the point where he could qualify for NCAA Division It athletic scholarship. Michael Oher was the first round-pick of the Baltimore Ravens in the 2009 NFL draft.

Family and football were two things Michael Oher had never experienced in his life. But they ultimately became the two things that changed his life forever. Growing up virtually abandoned in the poverty-stricken projects of Memphis—appropriately called Hurt Village—Michael had had few options and even fewer opportunities. But that was before he crossed paths with an unstoppable force in the person of Leigh Anne Tuohy. What followed was a series of events that would be hard to believe…except for the fact that the events are true. Michael became a member of the Tuohy family, who nurtured his abilities both on and off the football field, resulting in an inspiring story that is still unfolding today.

For most of his childhood, 17-year-old Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) has been in foster care with different families throughout Memphis, Tennessee. Every time Michael was placed in a new home, he runs away. "Big Mike" was always teased at school because of his size and age , but at his new school, Michael is befriended by a boy named "SJ"( Jae Head) . SJ's mother Leigh Anne Tuohy is a strong-minded interior designer and the wife of wealthy businessman Sean Tuohy. Leigh Anne notices Michael walking on the road, shivering in the cold; when she learns he intends to spend the night huddled outside the school gym, she offers him a place to sleep at her house. The next morning, when she sees Michael leaving, she asks him to spend the holiday with her family. Slowly, Michael becomes a member of the Tuohy family, even as Leigh Anne's rich friends wonder what she is doing. One even suggests that her teenage daughter Collins is not safe around him, much to Leigh Anne's disgust.
